Antonia
Roberta Ajú Cuc
I am Antonia Roberta Ajú Cuc.
I am 15 years old and I’m from the Xolcajá farmland of the
Nahualá Municipality.
My neighbor Isabel’s phone number is 54 93 64 65
By this means and with all my respect, I direct
myself to you to greet you and wish you success in tasks you face and
the duties you carry out with dignity.
The reason for the present letter is to explain
to you the precarious position that I see if front of me. I want to study
cuarto magisterio since last year I completed tercero básico, but
my father says that it’s not possible for him to pay what I need.
I want to study at the Instituto Mixto Oxlajuj No’j of Nahualá,
but we must pay tuition and also buy my school supplies. The school is
far away and I also have to pay my bus fare, but my father doesn’t
have the ability to pay everything I need because he works in the countryside.
He doesn’t earn very much and we are a large family. I have seven
younger siblings and all of them are studying, and I have two older sisters
who will study sexto primaria and who also want to continue studying.
My hope is to someday go to university to have a better life in the future.
I want to study in an effort to improve possibilities
for professional and social development for myself and for our community.
I came to know about the help that the Victoria Association is providing
through scholarships, and I respectfully direct myself to you consdier
me for this program so that I may advance toward a professional career.
I ask you to consider my petition, and I thank you in advance for your
time, hoping that my application will by received positively. May God
bless you in your daily endeavors.
Sincerely:
Antonia Roberta Ajú Cuc.
