Alma Ochoa
I greet you cordially, wishing you success with
your daily tasks. I send my respectful greetings to all the members and
administrators of Project Victoria.
My name is Alma Ochoa and I am the Vice President
of this project, something for which I am happy and grateful to God, and
my thanks also extend to Marielos Hernández who invited to me to
part of this organization. I am trained as a teacher of Urban Primary
Education, but I work as a Spanish teacher. My diploma as professor of
Spanish as a second language is from the Universidad de San Carlos, and
I have also studied at the Universidad de Loyola. I have a special interest
in helping the people of Guatemala, who I consider to be my people in
the sense that I want to offer my help without discriminating in any way.
This is why I participate in Project Victoria without having an economic
interest in the work.
I want to thank,
on behalf of the 24 scholarship students and their families, the great
help that is being provided to them through donations from the United
States. I have seen that, for all these students, Project Victoria is
a motivation to exert the effort to move ahead with their studies. I also
enjoy sharing this experience with the scholarship students and the other
members of Asociación Victoria. In my opinion, education is very
important for the progress and development of a society and a country.
We have now been working on this project for some time, and I have been
a witness to the fact that the students are studying hard to pass their
exams. I live in a rural area very close to many of the scholarship students,
and I see the daily efforts they undertake to move forward. I want to
finish by thanking the donors, Marielos, Chris, Roland, and the other
members for the excellent work on which they are collaborating. Thank
you, best regards,
Alma
